EpiscoBuilders Needs Help from St. David's July 25-July 27

EpiscoBuilders needs help from St. David's for a Habitat for Humanity summer project.

When: Wednesday, July 25 through Friday, July 27 in North Minneapolis.

What: Fix up home owner's extension of their home which they can't afford to do.

Why: EpiscoBuilders partnership with Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity on home building and repair activities each year. St. David's is a church partner with other Episcopal churches, but has not participated for quite some time.

Most important is that the home owner (mostly seniors) do not have the resources to maintain their homes. A recent report about the food shelf from the department of human services shows that there has been a 40% increase of seniors using their service. The reason is due to poverty caused by the current economy.

Who: Anyone 18 years and older. Young adults 16-17 can participate if accompanied by an adult (1 adult for every 4 young adults). Work hours are 8:30 am - 4:00 pm, with lunch and goodies for breaks. Requires signing a safety waiver with Habitat for Humanity.

Interested St. David's individuals are to contact Bruce Moulton at mlakelandcp@aol.com. He will provide location details and information on how to register with Habitat for Humanity and their waiver.

History: EpiscoBuilders work on five Habitat for Humanity projects each year. Fourty-six homes have been completed since the start in 2009.

The projects have been Saturday work days in January, February, March. Includes exterior, siding, interior work and painting, a summer (July usually) brush with kindness projects four days duration, and a house build in October.

Challenge: Here's St. David's chance to once again be a part of this vital team of EpiscoBuilders.

This is an urgent appeal. For further information contact LaMar Popp at 612-327-3664 or lnpopp@gmail.com.
