"O, come, let us adore him!":

A PAGEANT IN carols and VERSE

Hello St. David's Families and Friends!

This Christmas, we're doing a lovely pageant in verse with well-known carols.

I've made recordings for kids to practice with - click on the titles for the links.

I sing the verse the first time through, then play again for your child(ren) to sing with the accompaniment. Next to the titles I've noted who is singing which song(s).

Please have your kids listen and practice!

We will rehearse immediately after the 9:30am church service in the Choir Room on 12/8, and 12/15. We will have our Dress Rehearsal on 12/22 in the Sanctuary.

HERE is a link to the full pageant script.

Thanks for all of your help!

OF THE FATHER'S LOVE BEGOTTEN v2 (Sung by MARY)

Magnify, my soul, God’s greatness;

In my Savior I rejoice;

All the ages call me blessed.

In his praise I lift my voice;

He has cast down all the mighty,

And the Lowly are his choice.

Alleluia!

AWAY IN A MANGER v1 (Sung by ANIMALS)

Away in a manger, no crib for His bed

The little Lord Jesus lay down His sweet head

The stars in the sky look down where He lay

The little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay

IT CAME UPON A MIDNIGHT CLEAR v1 (Sung by ANGELS)

It came upon a midnight clear,

That glorious song of old,

From angels bending near the earth

To touch their harps of gold:

"Peace on the earth, good will to men

From heav'n's all-gracious King."

The world in solemn stillness lay

To hear the angels sing.

THE FIRST NOWELL v1 (Sung by SHEPHERDS???)

The first Nowell the angel did say

Was to three poor shepherds in fields as they lay.

In fields where they lay keeping their sheep,

In a cold winter’s night that was so deep.

Nowell, nowell, nowell, nowell.

Born is the King of Israel.

WE THREE KINGS v1 (Sung by MAGI)

We three kings of orient are,
Bearing gifts we traverse afar
Field and fountain, moor and mountain,
Following yonder star.

Oh, star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright.
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide with thy perfect light.

GO, TELL IT ON THE MOUNTAIN v1 (Sung by ALL)

Go, tell it on the mountain,

Over the hills and everywhere

Go, tell it on the mountain,

That Jesus Christ is born.

Down in a lowly manger
The humble Christ was born
And God sent us salvation
That blessed Christmas morn
